The concept of being "born again" in the Bible is rooted in a conversation between Jesus and a Pharisee named Nicodemus, as recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter 3. In this dialogue, Jesus tells Nicodemus that in order to see the kingdom of God, one must be "born again" or "born from above."

To be "born again" spiritually means to experience a transformation or renewal of one's inner being by the power of the Holy Spirit. It involves a decisive change of heart, mind, and will—a turning away from a life of sin and self-centeredness, and a turning towards God in faith and obedience.
